Last autumn we travelled to Copenhagen with our dear friend Adey, a breakfast person as we are. La Glacé looked slightly over the top at first, but a classic breakfast is always a good thing. Read more here.

We were lucky. After a misunderstanding with the booking we were left with no reservation at Bar Tartine, one of the restaurants that was on our must-visit list when in SanFrancisco. Fortunately a last-minute cancellation saved us from returning to the UK without enjoying it. Whatever you do, don't leave SF without trying their delicious DIY pickles, cheese and everything else. My dear friend Susan had warned me about the life changing sunsets on Maui, but the real thing exceeds all expectations. The Sea House in Napili Bay is said to be one of the best sunset spots. You can read my review on Plate Selector.

While road tripping the Golden State I shot this story about the cafe that introduced the espresso in California. We coincidentally chatted with a lovely couple who had met at the Caffe in their hippy days back in the 70s and surprisingly she happened to be from southern Spain. Read more here.
